Sardinia Cycling

Sardinia, a land of emerald seas, quiet coves and beaches of glittery white sand. This is Sardinia, an island that strikes its visitors with natural contrasts, the lights and colours of a region that boasts old traditions and a wild and pure nature. Situated in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, Sardinia is a mainly mountainous region, without any high peaks but with a stunning beauty of contrasts: turquoise waters, luxuriant woods, small desert areas and marshes inhabited by deer and wild horses.
This tour of Sardinia is self-guided, and goes from San Salvatore Sinis to Pula. This is a great way to see the second largest Mediterranean island, second in size to Sicily, separated from Southern Corsica by just 13km of sea - the Bonifacio straits. It is stunningly beautiful and unspoilt; the ideal place to enjoy hiking or cycling.
Cycling in the country allows you the opportunity to see and smell the wonderful vegetation of myrtle, rosemary, rockrose and sea lavender that border the sandy beaches. The white chalk rocks and limestone cliffs give the water an enticing, crystalline pale-blue colour.
In the island’s interior, you'll find a traditional land of shepherds and agriculture, rolling hills, and meadows, bright with wild flowers. In the mountain villages, the older ladies still dress from head to foot in black and the communities are extremely traditional. Truly a different side of Italy, one that's best experienced on two wheels!
