Berlin to Copenhagen

Come along on this classic cycling holiday! The Berlin to Copenhagen Cycle Route is a cycle route that connects these two vibrant German and Danish capital cities.
On your way you can enjoy the scenic lake district, take a ferry from Rostock to the white cliffs of Møn Island, and cycle along the coast and into the centre of Copenhagen. As Europe's 3rd largest city and Germany's capital, Berlin is a cornucopia of cultural and historical significance, including the remnants of the famous Brandenburg Gate that once fortified the city. Now very much restored and rebuilt, the city sits peacefully along the Spree River and is worth a sightseeing tour.
Cycling further north through the Brandenburg region, you'll encounter a luscious landscape that used to serve as famous hunting grounds and is filled with wildlife. Once East Germany's busiest and largest seaport, Rostock is now more commonly visited for its restored Altstadt, which includes medieval churches and museums. From Rostock, you'll enter Denmark via ferry past dikes, small forests and beautiful beaches.
As you cycle from coastal town to coastal town, you'll come across thatched cottages as well as villas and grand houses surrounded by wide fields and farmland before reaching Copenhagen. Start a tour of the city at Radhuspladsen, the Town Hall Square built in the Italian Renaissance style, and then move on to the famous Tivoli Gardens - the amusement park that tops them all! Additional popular highlights include: The Little Mermaid statue, the Rosenborg Castle with impressive royal gardens and home of the country's Crown Jewels, as well as the opulent Christiansborg Castle.
