West Highland Way

Scotland is the land of grand old castles, deep, dark lochs, stark mountains and windswept moorlands. This tour takes us into the magnificent countryside of the Highlands of Scotland. It follows Scotland's most famous trail on its course from the south of Loch Lomond to Fort William.
The West Highland Way stretches 96 miles (154 km) from Milngavie to Fort William, taking in a huge variety of scenery along the way, from countryside parks to loch-shores, and from open moorlands to steep mountains. When it comes to stunning scenery this is, by far, some of the best in Britain. Dramatic mountain ranges, idyllic lochs and stunning panoramic views are part of the attraction.
The footpath links Britain's largest lake with its highest mountain. This is for those who are seeking spectacular scenery on dramatic hikes from inn to inn. The route is a step back into history. The natural beauty of the region has been the subject of song, legends and poetry as explorers discovered the highlands.
Our walk takes us through glaciated valleys, moors and forests - this is the land of Rob Roy! We stay in charming inns, many of which have been in operation for centuries, with some fine Scottish hospitality. In the evenings, listen to some Gaelic music and raise a glass of ale!
